A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO
CHINA ASSOCIATION FOR MENTAL HEALTH
China Association for Mental Health(CAMH)is a national association whose members are the professionals of mental health, psychology, clinical practice, education and allied fields. It is legally registered as a non-governmental organization whose activities involve publicity drives as well as academic conferences. As a multi- disciplinary organization, CAMH is an important force to promote the development of mental health science and to improve the mental health status of the people.
AIMS: To unite the professionals of mental health, psychology, clinical practice, education and allied fields in China to promote the development of mental health sciences and to improve the mental health status of the people, by means of launching publicity drive, scientific research and academic exchange.
Till now, there are 28 provincial branch associations and fourteen committees specialized in the mental issues of the children, the elderly, the adolescent, the college students, the women, the disabled, special professions and committees of counseling and psychotherapy, psychometrics, crisis intervention, hospice care and Morita therapy.
Many academic activities are sponsored by CAMH, including the continue education programs, conferences, seminars and workshops. CAMH also make publicity drive to improve the awareness of the public by means of mass media such as newspapers, radios and TVs.
CAMH publishes three journals and one magazine: CN Mental Health Journal, CN Journal of Clinical Psychology, Journal of Health Psychology, Psychology and Health Magazine, The latter are welcomed by both the professionals and the general public.
